Pegasus Tenma (天馬星座のテンマ, Pegasasu no Tenma) is the Pegasus Bronze Saint during the 18th century.

Overview[]

Tenma

He's the protagonist of the series, an orphan of Japanese ancestry, later revealed to be son of Mephistopheles Yōma and Owl Partita. His soul reincarnates every time Athena returns to Earth, since the mythical ages of Greece, as the destiny of the Pegasus Saint is to forever be at his goddess' side, since he wields the strength to murder gods.

Story[]

Tenma was born in Germany, son of Mephistopheles Yōma and Owl Partita, but was taken to Sanctuary by Libra Dohko, where he was raised. He was found by Libra Dohko after he observed Tenma's destructive powers.

In the Sanctuary, Tenma was known by his early control over the cosmos, which made him gain the legendary Pegasus Cloth. During his training, Tenma fought the specter of the Earthly Hiding Star, Worm Raimi, being forcefuly hitten by him, but later receiving the help of Aries Shion. As saint, Tenma goes on a mission alongside Libra Dohko and other saints on pursuit of Hades, where he fights Lycaon Phlegyas, defeating him in one hit.

On the Underworld, Tenma is trapped by Mandrake Fyodor, in a mission to collect hellish fruits, with which Virgo Asmita could use to create a rosary. Tenma then promisses to never rest again until Hades' defeat, if though he was using Alone as vessel. At Aquarius Dégel's indication, he goes to the Canon Island in search of a man known as "the island's demon", later revealed to be Gemini Defteros.

Tenma is submitted to three challenges by Gemini:

  • control the lava and form a magmatic sphere on one hand;
  • survive a magma diving and;
  • stop a volcanic eruption.

After the challenges were beaten, the "demon" recognizes Tenma as saint. Virgo Asmita said that Gemini was jealous of Pegasus' determination.

With new habilities and cloth, Tenma presents himself to Athena and Sagittarius Sisyphus, ready to defeat Hades no matter the afterwards. After heading to Jamiel with Sagittarius to help Leo Regulus and the Bronze Saints who are recovering the boat to Lost Canvas.

Cosmos Nature[]

Tenma's cosmos has healing properties and the power to hurt gods, it can also control magmatic substances.
